Stay Tuned to mainyo.wordpress.com, or should I say mainyo .com. The old posts will gone forever, starting an e-zine with the crew that will be unrecognizable to my (former) readers. I hit a point where I need a creative outlet and I know alot of other that do as well. If you were a follower and you think you may be interested in contributing let me know. We will be covering the phila|ac|nyc area with a focus on music, art, tech, culture, sports and so on. As always it will be from a perspective that is ordinarily ignored by traditional media. Long time coming. Musicians. God I fucking hate musicians. Not all of them, just the ones who are in it for the complete wrong reasons. It is no longer all that profitable to be a musician. File sharing, the ability to download only partial albums, and piracy have taken a huge dent out of the potential profits musicians can make, and rightfully so. Terrible, terrible music made millions and billions of dollars for years. Record companies and their narcissistic artist enjoyed an era of unprecedented profits and ultra mega super duper consumerism in the 1990′s and early 2000′s. That is long gone and I am so glad the fucks that ruined so many good artists, squandered careers, wasted good music, and fucked us over with overpriced cassettes, cd’s and mp3 have finally had their day. Francis Manasis from Rinky Dink Records, Don Johnson, and all the other sweaty fucks.

If you dont make music for it to be listened to, then you deserve your misery. I am all for a guy, group or gal making a decent living. I want good artists to live comfortably and provide for theirs. Still, when I hear these mega million and billion-aire fake fucking tits and/or full of themselves middle aged pop/rockstars complaining about a dude in North Dakota who makes 30k annually and supports his sick mom and sisters 2 kids downloading an album or song, I want to KILL-a-mutha.

You greedy narcissistic fucks lost. I am glad we brought your uber overpriced industry to its knees. Heres to the death of the corpo-music-killers and the rebirth of the independent label. Its been a long time coming.

Almost Over or Almost Begining?

T minus 5 days until all coursework is finished and handed in. Was it worth it? Sure.

Did you drive yourself crazy? Yes.

I have to say the most rewarding experience of my life thus far. I melted more than usual, was broke almost the entire time, and survived on Marlboro lights and espresso shots. What did I get? A job where I am appreciated by my colleagues. Some fucking awesome students who appreciate the shit out me and send me referrals all day long. And for once some financial stability.

Have to say I am stoked on my accomplishments. First in the Fam to graduate college, let alone get a Masters. Were movin’ on up. Lil’ Mainyo is gonna be rich as shit. Next on the list is a house, followed by another Masters. Self improvement is not masturbation. Tuff’ love and respect to all those that helped make it happen. My friends, family, lady friend, and of course the one and only Slugger (tuff’est friend I ever had). I think this is the end of the road for Mainyo’s site. Hope you all had fun. It kept me sane in a time when I needed it most. I’m not writing it off completely, but it wont be like it was. Cheers, Yeah? Main. Mainyo?
